I signed up for and had three dinners with Alumni of the UW last week, and I wanted to jot down who they were somewhere that I wouldn't lose. So here it is.
Troy Vosseller started the Sconnie Nation T-shirt company as a freshman at UW-Madison. He is now the sole owner responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Sconnie Nation brand, including their soon-to-be released Sconnie Beer! On the side, Vosseller works part-time as a supervising attorney for UW’s Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic (uwle.org), a clinic that provides free legal services to help entrepreneurs and small business owners realize their potential. If you are interested in learning how to start up your own business, or just looking for entrepreneurial tips then this is the dinner for you!
*Lived in Kronsage, met at an ERLC dinner previously
Jack and Margo Edl have both recently retired, though their previous work experience has allowed them to gain insight on what it takes to be successful in today’s working world. Jack Edl was president and chief executive officer of a major private corporation headquartered in Chicago. He majored in economics and chemistry, and began his career in sales and marketing, progressing to up to general management, where he now continues to serve on the board of directors. His work allowed him travel worldwide, and had a great influence on his life back home. Margo Edl majored in finance and accounting, and worked for several major corporations, including Blue Cross Blue Shield and Litton Industries, until she founded, and most recently sold her own specialty products business. While retired, Jack Edl does pro bono mentoring and coaching. Margo Edl serves on the boards of the School of Veterinary Medicine and the Wisconsin Alumni Association, as well as other volunteer activities. The hosts both want to let their upcoming guests know that they want to focus the dinner on the guests discussing career goals and different ways to accomplish them. Also, they love to cook, a sure sign they’ll have a delicious meal waiting for you on arrival!
*Jack was also COO of LK kitchen stuff!
